Milan is a big and busy city where many people want to live, work and study. But finding a home that doesn’t cost too much can be very hard to find. Families, students and workers are often forced to live far away or in small, crowded spaces. The city is building lots of new apartments, but these are often too expensive. This piece looks at why Milan has a housing problem and asks what can be done to help everyone find a place to call home.
In Milan, I noticed that a lot of people need affordable places to live. The city is growing so fast, and it’s tough for families and students (like me!) to find homes that aren’t too expensive. Learning about this issue has made me realize how hard it can be for some people to stay close to work or school. Without affordable housing, people are forced to make difficult choices, like moving far away, or living in crowded spaces. This makes it harder for people to feel stable and build their lives in the city.
