Hola todos!! My name is Amalie Ball. I am 24 years old, and living in a small town in Paraguay called Alberdi. I am originally from a small, riverside town in Pennsylvania. I grew up there with my parents and three sisters. I was raised with many pets: dogs, cats, chickens and horses. Through this, I developed a passion for animals, as well as horseback riding and other sports.
When I began high school, I moved to New Hampshire to attend boarding school and further pursue my interest in sports. I hoped to eventually play sports in college. There, my love of sports continued, but my interest in travel and cultural studies grew. The school had a program called Global Scholars, where students were given the opportunity to travel all over the world, conducting research and taking classes. I unfortunately never participated, as I was focused on sports. But this made me interested in travel.
I graduated high school and attended the College of Charleston as a Division One athlete for horseback riding. In my four years in South Carolina, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Philosophy, with a minor in Criminology. Yet again, I was too occupied with athletics to participate in study abroad.
