The Life of a Kid in Dubrovnik: Meet Dominik!

Introduction:

Dobar dan (Hello)! For this special article, I chose to interview my younger cousin, Dominik. He is five years old and lives with his family upstairs from me and my grandmother. His parents' names are Ivan and Paula, and he has a younger sister named Nikolina.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

For breakfast, Dominik likes to eat bread with butter and homemade fruit jam. His favorite is apricot. He also has a glass of milk. Lunch is the main meal here, which starts with a soup, typically made of vegetables, chicken or beef and rice or pasta. He then has a fried pork chop or baked chicken with steamed vegetables like carrots, zucchini, green beans and potatoes. Dinner is a smaller meal, where he has a cup of yogurt with banana. For snacks, he likes potato chips and clementines. In the summer season, he likes figs and grapes.

What is your house like?:

Dominik lives in the same stone house that his great-grandparents built, where his grandparents and parents lived their whole lives! This is called a multi-generational household, where people of different generations (kids, parents and grandparents) live together. This way of living is great for kids because it means a grown-up is always home. Our house has three floors and there are many flowers, olive and orange trees in the large garden.
