Bhí sé an-fhaur ar an deireadh seachtaine. (It was very cold on the weekend). There were a few sunny days this week, but they are brief, as it gets dark around 4pm this time of year. In Ireland it is often raining. There is a saying that Irish people love to talk about the weather, because it is always changing! Sometimes there are even sun showers, which can be very mesmerizing. This week it hit freezing a few days, where we woke up to frost, and it even apparently snowed in the mountains.
I saw a great deal of birds, especially corvids (crows, rooks, and magpies), city pigeons, and wood pigeons.
Birds often hold spiritual and cultural significance. Do you have any superstitions surrounding birds? In Irealnd, the magpie is granted a great deal of respect. You are meant to nod to them when you see them. The number of magpies that you see will predict your luck.
