They take ocean water, extract (take out) the salt, and run it through a water treatment plant like you might have in your city. Once that is completed, it comes through the pipes and we fill our water bottles at the filling stations. The water is delicious!

What was the best meal this week?:

Remember how I said every day can feel like the same? Food brings so much enjoyment to people and there are people onboard whose job it is to prepare delicious dishes for us to enjoy. Here are some of the meals people enjoyed this week:

  • Carel enjoyed a surprise pulled pork sandwich during her morning break
  • The fried chicken was definitely Laurel’s favorite
  • Brian loves the Filipino dishes, which are frequently served because many of the catering crew are from the Philippines. He really enjoys all the flavors because they are different than what he is used to back home.
  • Oscar was really bummed out because he was going to miss the BBQ meats, but Rachel came to the rescue and saved him a special plate which he devoured when he woke up.
  • Victor said the lamb curry was great!
  • Bill enjoyed the pepperoni pizza because there was no pineapple on it!
What music did I listen to this week?:

The chemistry lab thinks they have the best music! When I visited, there was lots of 80’s and 90’s music playing on the overhead speakers. The flamingo and beach decorations were hanging up for a birthday, and with their lively music playing it also felt like a fun place to be. When Heather went to the gym, another person was playing some awesome music! She learned the artist’s name is Jamie Woon and she now has a new favorite artist.
