I traveled about 100 kilometers, or 62 miles, to Pendueles for a hike this week
Since arriving in Spain, I have had to make a few trips to the capital city of Madrid which is about 230 miles away from Oviedo. Just counting the trips to and from Madrid, I have traveled about 700 miles so far. Not counting the 4000 miles I traveled from Florida to Spain!
I get around the city by walking. I usually end up walking five to seven miles a day, depending on what I have to do that day. I have traveled to other cities by train or by bus. The only time I travel in a car is when I ride with other teachers to my schools.
I really enjoyed visiting the city of Gijon this week! It is only a 25 minute bus ride from Oviedo and it has a beautiful beach that reminds me of my home in Florida.
