What main languages are spoken here?:

The main language spoken in France is French. However, many people speak English here as well. A large number of people in France speak multiple languages and because Grenoble is so close to Italy, it is very common to find people with Italian heritage who also speak Italian.  The Italian influences are also seen in the food in Grenoble as well!  When speaking to someone in France, it is very important to greet them first with a simple Bonjour! (Hello) before you begin talking or asking a question. Saying a quick hello is a sign of respect and is part of the French experience to say it many times throughout the day.

What type of money is used here?:

France uses the Euro, which is the currency that is used in most countries in Europe that belong to the European Union, a political and economic group of several countries. One euro (€ is the symbol for a euro) is equal to $1.13 in the United States. One big difference between European and American money is how brightly colored the bills are. Also, 1€ and 2€ coins are commonly used.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of water normally costs about 0.60€ to 1€.

What was the best meal this week?:

Last weekend, while visiting the coastal town of Nice, France (pronounced NEE-ss), I ordered a freshly caught sea bass.
