This week Cali had a book festival! It’s called la Feria Internacional del Libro de Cali (the International Book Fair of Cali). There were numerous stands representing different book vendors. It was massive. I bought the first Harry Potter book in Spanish and started reading it that very same night. Not surprisingly, it’s just as awesome in Spanish.
This week, I went to my atletismo class that I told you about earlier. I also went biking around the city.
My most significant personal news from this week is that I bought a bike! I live close to the university, but due to nearby construction there is always a very bad traffic jam. Without traffic, the ride to school is about 10 minutes. Usually, however, it takes about an hour. I can walk to school, but that also takes about an hour. I needed to find another solution. A friend had recommended biking. A few times he lent me a bike to get to different places around town and I really loved it. It’s so much faster than walking and catching the bus or using an app to find a ride. Fortunately, my friend who is moving to Spain was selling his bike for a great deal! It all worked out perfectly and so now my latest challenge is to learn how to navigate bike life here in Cali.
