Monforte de Lemos is also in Galicia. It is located about 40 minutes from Ourense by train. As such, the languages spoken there are also Galician (galego) and Spanish (castellano).
Monforte de Lemos also uses the euro, like the rest of Spain.
My friend and I went to a restaurant for lunch and a bottle of water was 1.20 euro (currently around $1.33).
The best meal I had this week was lunch in Monforte de Lemos at a restaurant called Trespés Comidas e Petiscos. My friend had octopus tacos (basically fish tacos but with octopus instead), and I had a flank of pork with grilled vegetables. We both got a piece of apple cake with ice cream for dessert. We tried each other's entrees and they were both delicious. The restaurant also had nice views and pretty scenery surrounding it, because it is located right next to the Roman Bridge and the River Cabe in Monforte de Lemos.
I went out two nights last week and I heard a lot of reggaeton at the bars and clubs. This genre is by far the most popular music for clubs and bars to play. I also got to hear a little bit of the bagpipe music that a couple of my friends have been practicing.
