Our News

What music did I listen to this week?:

I attended a concert called Ruby Sessions, which happens every Tuesday at a pub in central Dublin. Ruby Sessions charges an entry fee of seven euros, which the organization donates to a local charity. This week's set included several Irish musicians who were all very talented.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

I always have fun cooking dinner with my roommates. We live in a small apartment with a big kitchen, and we share the different tasks it takes to make a meal for seven. It's always fun to chat while we chop vegetables and prepare dishes. Because we all go to Dartmouth and can talk about places we all know back in New England, the apartment dinners feel like a piece of home we brought over to Dublin.

What did I read this week?:

I read a book called Normal People by Sally Rooney, which is about students at Trinity College. It was super cool to see fictional characters moving through the real campus where I go to class each day. I also read the longest chapter of Ulysses for my weekly reading group. The chapter was about 150 pages long, and it took hours and hours to read. I felt very accomplished when I was done!

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I try to go running a few times a week. In spite of the rain, I went out to Phoenix Park and ran through the long paths and endless fields. I love running in Phoenix Park because I feel free from the loud and busy city streets.

Other news from this week:

After being closed for about a month, the local grocery store, Lidl, finally reopened. Shopping for groceries at Lidl is much cheaper than shopping in the United States.
