Our News

If I lived in the EU (European Union), I would not need any sort of visa. My Spanish friend, Javi, does not need a visa because he is an EU citizen. He does still have to register his German address with the government though. Finishing bureaucratic errands like applying for my visa makes me feel more grown up, so I find it fun in the sense that I can relax and have fun now that the task is finished. No one enjoys visa applications.

What did I read this week?:

My tenth-grade classes are starting the novel Holes this week. I grew up watching the Disney movie adaptation. For that reason, I am very excited to start sharing the book and film with them.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I do not play a lot of sports, but I love puzzles. I bought a sudoku book to solve on the plane home from Manchester. I have been solving those puzzles in my free time after school as well. The kids I tutor both play soccer. Soccer is the most popular sport in Germany, both as a player and as a spectator. While I didn’t play any soccer this week, I did watch a game on TV. Mönchengladbach beat Mainz 4-0. Mönchengladbach is currently ranked second overall in the Bundesliga (German soccer league). I hope to go to a game in December.

Other news from this week:

I picked out an outfit for Halloween! I want you to guess who I am dressing as, so I won’t tell you yet. Be on the lookout for hints.
