Spanish and Zapotec are the main languages spoken in this region. Zapotec is an indigenous language that sounds spiritual. I love hearing people speak this language, and I have an opportunity to learn some in an upcoming class.

For the first time, I tried a dish called molotes. This consists of fried dough stuffed with potatoes or meat, and these taste amazing! I can buy molotes from street vendors, and they are served with queso fresco, lettuce, and salsa or guacamole. I have also been eating way too many churros and cups of hot chocolate!
I have been listening to a lot of Mon Laferte, Natalia Laforcada, J Balvin and Bad Bunny. They are very popular artists here, and their lyrics have helped me improve my Spanish.
