The most fun activity this week was going on a canal tour of Bruges, Belgium. A canal is a small body of water (similar to a river) that people use to travel from house to house. They can also fish in the canal. I also saw swans on the canal, as well as houses lining the bank.
I read "The Firework-Maker's Daughter" by Phillip Pullman. It is a book we're reading in the 4th-grade class. The firework-maker's daughter wants to make fireworks, but her father won't let her. So, she goes on a journey to figure out the secret to making fireworks herself!
I did not play games or sports, but I watched the Football Club of Differdange play from the window of my train to Trier, Germany. In Europe, they call soccer "football", like FC Cincinnati, and it is, by far, the most popular sport, here!
