For example, we learned words like kind (amable), intelligent (inteligente) and hardworking (trabajador).
This week, I have been reading different travel blogs to figure out activities and locations to visit in my area. In my classrooms, we have been reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s Christmas Eve to learn some holiday vocabulary in English.
I learned a new board game that is common in homes here. It is called Oca Loca (Silly Goose). In Oca Loca, you roll a die and move a game piece around the board to reach the finish line. Some spaces on the board have pictures or characters. Depending on which space your piece lands on, different things happen. For example, if you land on the Oca Loca, you get another turn if you say this rhyme: “De oca a oca y tiro porque me toca” (From goose to goose, I roll again because it’s my turn).
I tried a new Asturian dessert. It is called arroz con leche (rice with milk). It is a sweet rice pudding made with rice and sweetened milk. It is often flavored with cinnamon and orange peel. I would describe it as a filling and comforting dish.
