What main languages are spoken here?:

The official languages in Lesotho are English and Sesotho. In some areas, people also speak Isixhosa. In the cities many people speak English, but in rural villages you'll mostly hear Sesotho. I teach English at my school, but outside of my classroom I spend most of my day speaking Sesotho. 

What type of money is used here?:

In Lesotho, the official currency in maloti. It is named after a mountain range here, and it comes in all sorts of colors including red, orange, blue, green and purple! We also use the South African rand, which has the same value as maloti (1 US Dollar = 16 Maloti).

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of water typically costs about eight maloti, which is only 50 cents!

What was the best meal this week?:

This week, I had to go to the capital city, Maseru, for a doctor's appointment. It's a long journey to get there, but I had some yummy Chinese food while I was there, which made the whole trip worth it. I also bought some pasta sauce at the grocery store in Maseru and enjoyed a cozy bowl of spaghetti once I was back in my village.

What music did I listen to this week?:

Whenever I take taxis, there is always loud music playing on the speakers.
