The main language spoken is called Dagbani. It has a similar alphabet to English but it doesn't use the letter "q" or "x" and has an additional 5 letters.
The money used here is a called Cedi. It is very beautiful, each amount is a different color bill. For example, a 5 Cedi bill is blue, a 10 Cedi bill is green and a 20 Cedi bill is purple! Every 10 Cedis is worth 1 US Dollar.
A bottle of water costs 5 Cedis. However, the more common way of drinking water is from a sachet. This is a sealed plastic bag filled with water and these only cost .50 Cedis.
The best meal this week was alefu stew with egg. This was prepared by cooking onions, garlic, and tomato paste then add in the alefu. Alefu is a leafy green vegetable that tastes similar to spinach (but better). It is grown in the local farms and available in the local market. Once the stew was made, I added an egg on top, it was so delicious!
