What main languages are spoken here?:

Spanish is the main language spoken here, with English being the second most common due to tourism from English-speaking countries. Previously, there were other common languages spoken as well, like Guaycura, which was a language indigenous to the Baja. Unfortunately, all Guaycura individuals passed away before the 1900s, mainly due to the introduction of new diseases during Spanish colonization.

What type of money is used here?:

In Mexico, the currency is called the Mexican Peso. Typically, the US Dollar is worth 16 to 17 Mexican Pesos. Fun fact: eight countries use "peso" as the name of their currency, like the Chilean Peso and the Philippine Peso. For that reason, the money here is technically the Mexican Peso, though it is just called "peso" in daily life.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of water costs about 25 to 30 pesos, depending on the store. That means in USD, a bottle of water is about $1.50 to $1.75. Another fun fact: It is sometimes difficult to find “still” uncarbonated water at smaller convenience stores. Many have the drink seen here instead, called Topo Chico, which is carbonated water.
