A 1.5 liter bottle of water costs around 0.35€ to 0.99€ (0.39 to 1.11 cents). However, a great thing about Austria is that you don't even need to buy them. Austria gets half of its water from natural springwater, and the rest from natural underground water. The water is so clean that no matter where you are, you can be 100% confident that you could drink from any tap!
My favorite meal was the cake and coffee I had at the cafe I read in. It was absolutely amazing for its affordable price!
I listened to a lot of Beethoven's symphonies this week. Why? I'm actually working with the Beethoven Vienna Group as an intern, and my job is to dig up music that Beethoven never published when he was alive. Sometimes, there are errors created by publishers from Beethoven's time period (Beethoven was also lazy from time to time), so my job is to understand Beethoven's music and make an educated guess as to what he would have wrote. Then I'll write the music in a modern way and deliver it to an orchestra to play. It's a very scary task since there's no way to know if you messed up. You just have to hope you understood Beethoven correctly!
Meeting new people in Austria! It was the most exciting yet most stressful thing I've done, since I had to use all my brain power to speak German. It was so exciting since learning a new language is something I've always wanted to do, and the locals are so kind that they have no judgment once they realize you're trying to learn. In fact, they love it when Americans come to Austria!
