Okinawan food was the best food I had this week, but I unfortunately don't know the names of everything I tried. The fire ramen we tried was also very cool. At the popular Japanese restaurant in the U.S., Benihana, the cooks often make a "volcano" of onions with steam coming out the top and light oil on fire in a similar way to the fire ramen. Showmanship in cooking always makes the meal more fun!

I went to karaoke for one hour with friends to de-stress from so much studying for finals. Karaoke is a very popular passtime in Japan. Karaoke works differently in Japan than it does in the U.S. While in the U.S. you usually have to sing in front of a whole room of strangers, in Japan, karaoke rooms are private so you can sing with only a group of friends.
