There are large parades and parties all over Panama. On the last day of Carnaval this year (March 5th), I was in Panama City for the celebration. I saw a lot of beautiful parade floats and dance performances that celebrated Panama's rich history and culture. Every Carnaval celebration appoints a reina (a queen) to lead the celebrations. I have included a picture of the Panama City Queen of 2019 and the princesses dancing in their Carnaval costumes.

I didn't play any games or sports this week, but when I visited the national park in Costa Rica, we walked about 10 miles around the beaches and jungles. It was great exercise!
March 8th was International Women's Day (Dia Internacional de la Mujer). International Women's Day celebrates the achievements of women and girls around the world and the fight for women's rights throughout history. To celebrate, I went to a coffee shop where some awesome female photographers were showing their work. My friend, Lupita, from Guatemala took photos of the Embera tribe women in Panama and showcased them. I also bought a cake for my co-workers. It was an amazing day to celebrate women around the world!
