What activity was the most fun this week?:

The trip to Gangneung was definitely fun. It was a good break from the hustle and bustle of Seoul, and it was a good way to say goodbye to winter break. It might have been cloudy and a little chilly, but it was still refreshing to walk along the shoreline, taking in the beautiful scenery, feeling the breeze against your face and enjoying the company of a favorite person.

What did I read this week?:

As this week is the first week of the spring semester, I haven’t opened any of my textbooks yet. So, before I get buried with schoolwork, I am taking advantage of my free time by reviewing my Korean. I am currently preparing to take the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) this coming April. Wish me luck!

What games or sports did I play this week?:

Let me share with you a fun paper game I've been taught. Have you heard of the Korean paper game called ddakji (딱지)? Here's a link showing you how to prepare the paper pieces:

The object of the game is to flip the opponent's ddakji piece. It sounds simple, but it's harder than it sounds. When everyone has their ddakji, play rock-paper-scissors. The loser drops his ddakji to the ground, and the winner first tries to flip the piece. If it doesn't flip, it will be the opponent's turn to try. If it flips, he gets to keep the ddakji. Here's a tip: make sure to hit the center as hard as you can. This increases the likelihood of flipping the ddakji piece.
