T-Cell Industry Scientist, Associate Director: Emily Thompson Beura

My biggest inspiration is all the people who identify as wome that came before me in this field to help make it easier for me to pave my path. I’m also inspired by pursuing knowledge and harnessing that to help people in need. I go back to the patients, people management and the science as my biggest motivators for why I like my job.

What do you like to do when you are not keeping track of our T-cells?
I love being a mommy to my daughter. I have gotten so much joy from being a mama and a scientist, and I find balancing those two things to be really rewarding and fulfilling. I like to spend my time outside of the office with my family and friends, usually relaxing and keeping it simple, enjoying good food and conversation. I’m an avid reader, plus I enjoy knitting and being outside. Recently, I've gotten into bird watching.
