Our News

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The most fun activity this week was visiting the Camera Obscura and World of Illusions attractions in Edinburgh. The Camera Obscura, which uses a mirror to project live images of the surrounding city onto a white tabletop, is an amazing piece of technology. The Camera Obscura was opened in the 1830s, making it one of the oldest purposely built tourist attractions in the world. In addition, the building also houses many fun illusions and other attractions.

What did I read this week?:

This week, I read philosophy articles on Descartes' Cogito for my philosophy class. I also read a few stories for fun while I spent many hours on trains.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I did not play any games or sports this week. I did hike Arthur's Seat, a hill in Edinburgh, though. Since I picked a steep trail with many slippery rocks, I had to almost crawl my way up the mountain, hoping that I did not slip off the edge.

Other news from this week:

This week was Halloween. The hostel where I was staying, had a little Halloween party where I got to meet other travelers and eat some free food. I also attended a party in a Frankenstein themed pub, but it was a little too crowded for me. However, the scariest moment of the week was when I decided to explore Greyfriars Kirkyard, an old cemetary, alone at 11 p.m. in the darkness. I ended up getting a little too scared and with the poor lighting, was not able to find Tom Riddle's grave, the one I had been searching for.
