Because we visited in the early morning, there was a fine mist over the water, making it appear spooky and beautiful. There are many fascinating stories concerning the Loch Ness, the Loch Ness monsters and the people that hunt it. One fun fact is that the loch contains so much water that everyone in the world could swim in it at once. However, this would not be very comfortable.
This week, I was able to visit a few castles in Scotland, including Eileen Donan, which is prominently featured in many movies; Urquhart Castle, which is at Loch Ness; Edinburgh Castle, where Mary Queen of Scots gave birth to James VI and I; and Stirling Castle, where Mary Queen of Scots was crowned. All of the castles were beautiful and contained hundreds of years of history.
