Tonight we are going to stay in the Nana Hotel in Kathmandu city! Typically we’re not allowed to be out late at night because it’s unsafe, but during Indra Jatra, everyone will be out at night in the city! Also, later this week, we’ll travel to Pokhara and then Tangting, which will be the new farthest place I will have traveled. Due to unknown traffic conditions, the bus ride to Pokhara could be anywhere from eight to 12.5 hours long! Then we’ll spend one night in Pokhara before traveling to the small village, Tangting. We’ll take a short jeep ride, and then hike the rest of the way for about three hours uphill. I’ll meet and live with a new host family for the six days that I stay in Tangting, so I'm very excited! I’ve also made my final decision about where I’m trekking for my fall break! In the Annapurna region, there’s a less crowded trek to the Mardi Himal base camp. It’s also a bit shorter than the trek most people take, which is good because I need to get back to Kathmandu to have another engineering class. I'll be sure to post pictures from all my adventures!
