Every morning and afternoon I either take Trufi Number 9 or Micro J to my classes. It's a fun part of my day where I often meet people or look around Cochabamba. Everyone here uses the trufis and micros. There are a lot of cars, too, but people often take these buses.
Most people get around by using trufis or micros. The trufi can be a regular car or a smaller van, but you can recognize it by the sign displaying its route. Micros are big buses that are super colorful! Most of the micros look like buses that have been painted red. Most people know which bus numbers go where, and they wave a hand at the driver to get on anywhere. To get off, you just need to say "Voy a bajar por favor" or "A la equina por favor," which means "I'm going to get off please" or "At the corner, please."
The first time I traveled this way, I was pretty scared, because everything happens fast. I have to know exactly where I'm going, and I didn't know my way around yet. Sometimes the bus starts moving when I only have one foot on the stair. Now, though,I really like it because I know exactly where I'm going.
