Greetings From Arnau: The 10-Year-Old From Spain!

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

For breakfast, I usually eat toast with nutella or have milk with cereal called Lion. For lunch, we eat meat and vegetables or, sometimes, fish or pasta. Dinner is often similar to lunch with a soup or salad.

What is your house like?:

My mom’s house is large and yellow inside. My dad’s house is pink on the outside and inside. My great-great-grandfather built my dad’s house over 100 years ago, and it has been passed down through our family ever since.

What chores do you have at home?:

I make my bed in the afternoon, clean my room and help keep things in order around the house.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My dad is a police officer and my mom is a social worker who helps kids in the hospital.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

I wake up at 7:30 a.m. and school starts at 9:00 a.m. I usually go home between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., depending on the day. This is because I sometimes have English class or athletics after school.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

I usually walk to school or take the metro and it’s about eight stops away. All children in Barcelona get a free transporation card for the metro or bus. Maybe when I’m 11, I’ll be allowed to go by myself!

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

A big room with a lot of tables like the ones in American school.
