What jobs do your parents have?:

BB: They are rice farmers.

Max: My parents are farmers. 

Poom: My mom and dad do farming, and my dad does pouring. [Pouring is construction work for building houses.]

PP: My parents are sellers. They sell the things you use to build a house.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

PP: I come to school at 7:30a.m. I go home at 16:00p.m.

Poom: For me, I come to school from 7:50a.m. to 16:30p.m.

[In Thailand, people use a 24 hour clock. 16:00 is 4:00p.m. You also don't have to say A.M. or P.M. when using 24 hour time, but my students learned to use always A.M. and P.M. when speaking English.]

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

BB: I come by car. My mother drives me. 

Max: I come by motorcycle, and I come alone.

Poom: I get to school by bus driven by the bus driver.

PP: I use my family’s car. My mom drives me to school.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

PP: I eat in the school canteen. My favorite food is fried chicken.

Poom: My favorite food is papaya salad.

Max: My favorite food is grapbao muu. [Minced pork with sweet basil and rice]

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

BB: We speak Thai language. Sawatdee ka!

PP: I speak Thai. “Hello” is sawatdee khrap.
