Rural landscape

Introduction:

Most people in rural areas farm for a living, so you'll see them working in the fields during the day. Sometimes these farmers will set up stalls on roadsides to sell their fresh fruit or vegetables to passersby.

What makes this environment special or different?:

Let's do a quick memory check!

Urban areas are tall and dense. Suburban areas are tall and spread out.

Rural areas are low-rise and spread out. There are no skyscrapers in villages, but rather miles and miles of farmland blossoming with green, leafy plants. The village is full of old buildings decorated with white and blue traditional designs. Walking around here, it feels peaceful: people are not busy, hurrying off to the next event or place.

What parts of this environment help people to live here?:

Most of the land in rural areas has been preserved to be used as farmland. This is fortunate since most villagers farm for a living. You will rarely find a restuarant in these places since most people take their crops home to cook meals with.

What challenges do people face living in this environment?:

Farming is not a stable source of income, and a bad year can force a farmer into poverty.
