Hi! My name is Samhita and I’m 22 years old. I was born in Massachusetts and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in California when I was 9 years old. For college, I headed to Baltimore to study Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. After graduating, I received a Fulbright Research Scholarship to study point-of-care diagnostics for chronic kidney disease in Chennai, India, where I’m currently living. I am working to develop a device to measure the concentration of creatinine (a molecule filtered by the kidneys) in the blood to catch chronic kidney disease earlier. I’m excited to share my experiences and get to know you more throughout the year!
