Bweenas! (Hi!) My name is Sam, and I am living and working in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico for nine months! I just used a Mayan greeting because Mayan culture has a huge impact on this region of Mexico. I am 22 years old, and I am from a small town outside of Boston, Massachusetts. I just graduated in May 2019 with a degree in History and Secondary Education and a minor in Spanish. When I get back to the United States next year, I hope to be a high school history teacher. Throughout college, I studied Spanish and had always hoped to live in a Spanish-speaking country. To fulfill this goal, I applied for a Fulbright ETA grant last year to teach English in Mexico. I was so lucky to have received this grant, and I am continuously improving my Spanish every day that I live and interact with the locals here in Mexico. I am so excited to get to know all of you, share my experiences with you and learn about all of your interests! Hasta pronto!
