The weather this week was warm and windy! Because Australia is on the opposite side of the world as the United States, our seasons are flipped. When it is wintertime in America, it is summertime here in Australia. Additionally, it is always windy in Australia. Since it is one big island, large gusts of wind from the Pacific Ocean will blow onto the mainland.
I saw a penguin this week. Penguins call the coastal rocks of Australia home, and often come onshore at night to sleep. These types of penguins are called the little penguin, or sometimes the fairy penguin, because of how small they are. Their size also makes them really hard to see, so you are very lucky if you are able to spot a little penguin at night.
