I traveled about 192 km, which is 119 miles. 120 km (74 miles) to and from Grado for four days, and 72 km (44 miles) to and from Avilés.
I traveled about a total of 72 km/44 miles for this one-day trip to Avilés. It was super easy, and the best part is that it was super cheap, too. The total was only about six euro!
To get to and from Grado, I take the local Alsa bus. For my trip to Avilés, I took the Renfe Cercanías trains.
The most interesting place I visited was the Niemeyer Center, where we got to have a tour of the grounds in Spanish! The Niemeyer Center is an international cultural center that houses classical and modern art, and hosts live performances of opera, theater and other concerts. We went there to look at the free modern art exhibits and take a 45-minute walking tour that allowed us to see all of the center and have a great view of the city! My favorite part was when we found out that it was going to be a private tour for my roommate and me because we were the only ones that signed up for the tour that hour.
The most interesting part about this place is that the way it was designed to look like the mountains meeting the sea.
