The nice thing about being in an international city like Berlin is that you can find food from all over the world, not just German food!
I didn't listen to much music on my own, although I did play music when I went to a celebration event that my scholarship organization was hosting. There was no DJ at the event to play any music, and since I DJed in college, I offered to DJ for the rest of the night. Everyone at the event loved it! I played all Latin music and hip-hop.
Over the weekend, I went to a celebration with my friends. We are all English Teaching Assistants in different parts of Germany. The celebration was being held by our exchange organization, and we got together to meet and mingle with everyone. There were people from over 20 countries there, so there were a lot of people to meet!
Walking around Berlin, I read many billboards with fun sayings and photos. I like to read billboards in German because it helps me practice my language skills.
At my scholarship organization event, we didn't play any games but we did dance the night away! Since so many countries were represented there, small groups of people had the chance to show different dance styles from their culture. My favorite was the Arabic dancing!
The people at these events came from all over Germany and from other countries as well. Some of them I'd met before and not seen in a very long time, so it was wonderful to reconnect with friends.
