A big challenge that is solved by using these bikes is the number of cars on the roads, which has been greatly reduced under the bicycle scheme. This change then translates to several things: less traffic jams = a cleaner city = less CO2 in the air =healthier people! Another potential challenge solved by going this route is a reduced reliance on fuels.
People love riding their bikes around the city, and many choose to do so by using àVélo. As an alternative form of transportation and longer distances, people use trains, buses, and other public transport. Of course there is still a good number of people that use cars, especially outside the city center. However, hopefully as the city expands the bike-sharing program, the reliance on cars will decrease.
What about you?If you could, would you bike everywhere?
