Aoife's Life in Ireland

Introduction:

My roommate brought her younger sister to visit for the weekend and I asked her some questions about her life so that you could know what life is like for a kid in Ireland!

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

For breakfast, I usually eat cereal with milk. On the weekends my mom makes eggs and toast. For lunch, my mom makes me a sandwich. It's always different for dinner. My dad doesn't cook much, but my mom likes to cook chicken or beef with a vegetable or salad. She loves spaghetti and soups.

What is your house like?:

My house is pretty small. It has two bedrooms, a small kitchen and a family room with a fireplace. My sister and I use to share our room but now she's in school. There aren't a lot of houses around us and my dad raises sheep.

What chores do you have at home?:

I'm in charge of cutting the peat for the fireplace. It's pretty boring but I don't mind helping my family.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My dad raises sheep. My mom is a teacher at my school. They also decided to try to start growing mushrooms recently.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

School starts at 9:30 a.m. It gets out at 3:30 p.m.
