Also, with the training I have received, I can help teachers develop new ways of teaching English, like English Days, games, interactive reading and creative writing. Some nonprofit organizations also assist in English development--for example: the YMCA. In fact, I worked as a camp counsellor for the YMCA as a part of this initiative.
My hope is that my impact pushes my community to see the utility of secondary language acquisition and that my teaching strategies, both for English and in general, help further support my students and future students once I’m gone.
