Goodbye for Now!

It really gave me perspective on the visible impacts of climate change, and Venice is a place that could be underwater by 2100. All of this travelling was more than just fun pictures and good gelato (though the gelato was pretty amazing!). It is a chance to learn about new cultures, traditions, stories, and history, but also a chance to think about our role in the wider world.

So if you ever get the opportunity to travel, no matter how far, it is a great opportunity to learn, ask questions, meet new people, and learn new things about yourself. 7th grade Sidney would never have believed you if you told me I would actually be living in France in my future! Yet here I am, thanks to the Fulbright Scholarship. So if you decide to go to university one day, be sure to remember that there are a lot of great programs out there to help you achieve your big dreams and goals. It doesn't have to be getting a Master's in climate science, like I'm doing, it could be playing music, competing in sports, studying business or medicine, astronomy, or coding. You just have to go for it!

I have really enjoyed having the opportunity to share my journey in France and reflect on how amazing it is to get to be here! I hope you all took away something, even if it is a silly, fun fact about crepes, skiing or glaciers. I hope you have a great spring break and enjoy the rest of the school year.
