Mushrooms grow and spread very quickly, which is why, in English, we have the verb "to mushroom," which means to spread, or appear quickly.
Mushrooms grow in shaded and moist environments. If there is a particularly dry summer, not as many mushrooms will grow. Not to worry, however, mushrooms are plentiful in Europe.
