






In Romania, there are two predominant languages. On the eastern side, Romania is the main spoken language, and on the western side, Hungarian is the predominant language. On the western side, the local people learn Romanian in school after they learn Hungarian at home.
The currency used in Romania is called leu, and one U.S. dollar equals four leu.
A bottle of water costs around twol eu or 50 cents in U.S. dollars.
The best meal I had this week was a special fried chicken dish with barley grain and hot peppers. For dessert, we had chocolate and cinnamon cake.
I heard some good traditional Hungarian folk music. During the trip to Transylvania, we got to witness a wedding. There was a violinist and accordion musician playing outside of the church where the marriage was taking place.
