Our News

What music did I listen to this week?:

I listened to some Indian music that was playing on campus this week. The Deepavali holiday is coming up, which is a festival celebrated by those who adhere to Hinduism. Almost 80% of Indians identify as Hindu, so a lot of Indian food and music was prepared as part of the celebration!

What activity was the most fun this week?:

Visiting Sentosa was very fun! Unfortunately it began to rain, which made staying on the beaches there difficult, but I was able to walk around the island a bit and see some of the attractions. The island has a smaller Universal Studios, a water park, indoor skydiving, a luge (riding down a hill in a small cart) and a chairlift (which works the exact same as a ski lift)!

What did I read this week?:

I read a lot about ASEAN (The Association of Southeast Asian States) for one of my classes. ASEAN is an organization of different countries in Southeast Asia (including Singapore). They focus on promoting peace and cooperation among different countries to avoid war and prevent conflicts.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I did not play any games or sports, but I did watch a game of bubble soccer being played on the green outside my building. Everyone was in a big inflatable bubble, which made it difficult and entertaining to get to the soccer ball.
