The Students of Northeastern University

Introduction:

Students at Northeastern University major in a variety of topics. From language to engineering and business, they learn a great amount over their 4 years. While their schedules are insanely busy, they always seem to find time to answer my questions and help me with my adjustment to life in China. One student in particular has been incredibly helpful to me over the last month and a half. I’m going to introduce you all to him through this interview.

He has shown me how to shop in China and download apps on my Chinese phone. His kindness is irreplaceable and I’ve grown to see him not only as a helpful student but also as a good friend.

What is your full name?:

My name is Jiayao Li. My English name, and what Stanley calls me, is Ronan.

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

I currently live at a dormitory on Northeastern’s campus. Originally, I am from the Sichuan Province. This is located in the southern region of China.

What is your family like?:

I am the only child. My parents are very orderly and traditional.

How do you get around?:

Unlike a lot of people in Shenyang, I use a bike or motorcycle to get around. I also enjoy the old fashioned way of transportation – walking.
