Travel News

I also walked to nearby places and used YouBike, Taiwan’s public bike sharing system. YouBike stations are common around Taipei, so it is easy to rent a bike, ride to a destination and return it to another station. I enjoy having different ways to travel because each one lets me experience the city a little differently.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

I always enjoy discovering new restaurants and trying different foods around Taipei, but the most interesting place I visited this week was Wulai Falls. I loved being surrounded by nature and seeing the waterfall flow down the rocky landscape. Getting to walk along the trails and swim in the cool water with my friends made the visit even more memorable. It was interesting to experience a completely different environment from the crowded streets and shops, I usually visit in Taipei. The trip reminded me that Taiwan has so much more to explore beyond the city, from its delicious food to its beautiful mountains and natural scenery.

Other Travel News from this week:

One of the biggest travel stories in Taiwan this week was how Typhoon Champi affected transportation and sightseeing plans, flights, ferries and outdoor attractions were temporarily cancelled for safety. This is a reminder that traveling around Taiwan sometimes requires flexibility, especially when visiting mountains, waterfalls and coastal areas. I learned that it is important to check weather forecasts, public transportation updates and attraction closures before heading out on an adventure. However, when the weather changes plans, there are still plenty of indoor places to explore, from shopping malls to museums and cozy cafes!
