This winter, Amman has been receiving a lot more rain than it usually does most years. Most days it is dry and warm, but a couple times a week during the winter it has been raining. You always know it is about to rain when the traffic gets really crowded. The warm days though are beautiful and the weather is great for exploring the city and the outdoors.
Amman is full of stray cats. There is one that lives in the courtyard of my building. The stray cats here are often afraid of people, but they can be found on every block of the city. They are sometimes fed by people around town, too.
I live in the middle of a large city, so I do not get out into a truly natural area often. Nonetheless, there are a lot of ways nature is integrated into the city. My favorite nature-related aspect I have seen this week was a memorial to soldiers in the battle of As-Salt in World War I.
