The main subjects the kids learn in school are Portuguese, Math, English, Science, Geography, Art and Phys. Ed. Elton's favorite is Phys. Ed. because he loves playing soccer. Talita also likes Phys. Ed. and art class. Vítor says his favorite class is Portuguese while Sofia likes math the most because she's good with numbers.
Generally the kids have to practice math problems, write the alphabet and sentences in Portuguese and practice using the Portuguese to English dictionary. Guilherme told me that he remembers all of his English teachers being bad, which lead to a lot of dictionary use versus learning in the classroom.
The kids are currently in an activity program that lets them learn and play games like chess and twister (yep - twister!). Aside from these kids of activites, the kids overwhelmingly love to play soccer.
