Dear Ms. Gorham's fifth grade classroom,
These past few months have been so much fun. As I moved to another country and adjusted to a new way of life, you followed me on my adventures in this amazing country. I appreciate that you were interested in my journey and willing to share about yourselves during our video chats. You all asked so many wonderful questions that helped me think about my time here in a deeper way, and I thank you for that.
I know that during our chats we talked about me applying to medical school. As an update, I have been accepted into three medical schools so far, so I know that I will become a doctor!
This week I visited a mountain, Montserrat, with some friends. I have put up some pictures in this post about my time on the mountain-- it was so incredibly beautiful, and it took us five hours to hike up and down! There is a Christian monastery on the mountain that we also visited, in addition to a small market that was selling fresh figs, cheese (who likes cheese?), and different types of almonds and walnuts. Now that it is getting to be wintertime here, it was quite chilly on the mountain, but still no snow!
As I climbed to the top of the mountain, I could not help but think that our time together has been similar.
