The weather this week was a mixture of sunny and cloudy days. The sunny days were very nice and people were outside, walking in the park. The cloudy days turned cold and most people stayed indoors. It even rained a few days, which made the days seem dull. The temperatures remained around 70 degrees, but when it rained it dropped to 48 degrees. The weather has gradually been getting warmer as summer approaches. My Bulgarian friends tell me that it will get really hot soon!
I saw numerous cats (котки—kot-ki) and dogs (кучета—ku-chet-a) this week, but that is normal in Vidin. There are many stray animals in Bulgaria, but people regularly give the animals pieces of their food as they pass them. I also see a lot of pigeons here. They coo on the top of buildings and line the streets pecking for crumbs. They are so used to humans, that they rarely move when someone walks by them.
