The trams, metro and buses are very dependable and punctual, meaning that they're rarely more than a few minutes late and come by at frequent intervals. Even further, while traveling on a tram, it's so nice to look out the window at the city! I get lost in daydreams pretty often on trams, whereas metros don't feel as special, even though they're faster and my first choice to get to school. Still, taking either makes me feel like a real local here.
Public transportation is definitely connected to the green culture of the Czech Republic! Here in Prague, there's a big emphasis on environmentally-friendly habits such as recycling, thrifting and conserving heat at home. For example, this is one of the reasons why we don't have a clothing dryer. By taking public transportation, people save the gas emissions that would be released if they were to use a car.
