Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

I traveled around 320 kilometers this week: 30 kilometers by bike, 30 kilometers by bus to Bruz, 120 kilometers by bus to Le Mont-Saint-Michel, and 140 kilometers by train to Saint-Malo.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

It’s difficult to give an accurate number since I’ve traveled to many different places since arriving in August, but I’d estimate it at around 2500 kilometers. If we count my travels during my time in Rennes in 2023, I suspect it’d be over 5000 kilometers.

How did I get around this week?:

This week I used the metro and bus to go to the ENS Rennes campus, and I biked to all my other destinations. Biking is a very effective method of traveling in Rennes. The city has even added new bike lanes since I arrived.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

The most interesting places I visited this week were definitely Le Mont-Saint-Michel and Saint-Malo. The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) in Rennes hosted a trip this weekend and last weekend. I had already visited both cities during my first stay in Rennes, but they were definitely worth a revisit!
