I actually traveled quite a bit this week when I wasn't in Ordu! I flew to the capitol, Ankara, to spend a day there with friends. Also, I spent last weekend in Trabzon to visit another American in Türkiye, which was about 4 hours away on the bus and is also located in the Black Sea.
This journey has taken me to a lot of cool new places! I have traveled all around Türkiye to many cities, such as Istanbul, Mardin, Eskişehir (the ş is pronounced like "sh") and more! I have also had the chance to travel to other countries in the region, such as Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria and Slovakia.
Since I don't have a car, I have to take the public bus to get around Ordu. When I traveled to other cities, though, I used planes, buses and taxis to get around. Some of my friends have cars, so occasionally they drive me places.
When I was in Trabzon, I visited Uzungöl, meaning "long lake." I really love hiking and being in nature, so I enjoyed walking along the lake and climbing the mountain to get a better view of it.
